Conditions for New Connections
1.
Reliance
Petroleum Limited (hereinafter
called “the company”) loans to the Consumer and the
Consumer takes on loan from the Company cylinders, valves
and/or pressure regulators (hereinafter collectively
called “the Equipment”) required for the supply of the
Company’s product, viz., “LPG”
(hereinafter referred to as “Reliance
Gas”).

The consumer shall deposit with the Company an
amount in accordance with the Company’s tariff in force
from time to time as security for the due fulfillment by
the Consumer of his obligations hereunder. The Company
shall be under no obligation to account to the Consumer
with regard to the manner of use or disposal of the funds
received as deposit from the Consumer nor shall it pay to
the Consumer any interest thereon. The Company will be at
liberty to obtain, at its discretion, an additional amount
towards deposit if the circumstances in the opinion of the
Company so require, which additional amount will be held
on the same terms as the original deposit.
3.
The Consumer shall remain responsible to the
Company for safe custody of the Equipment and he shall not
sell, mortgage, pledge, hypothecate or otherwise dispose
of the Equipment or
create any interest therein or change thereon in favour of
any party.
4.
The Consumer shall not remove the Equipment to any
address other than that shown on the obverse hereof
without obtaining the prior written permission of
the Company’s Distributor
concerned (hereinafter referred to as “the
distributor”). Further, in the event of the Consumer’s
departure from area serviced by the Distributor, he shall
return the cylinder to the Distributor.
5.
For the change of name, in the unfortunate event of
death of the Consumer, certified copy of death certificate
will have to be produced.
6.
The Consumer shall not attempt to repair the
Equipment or cause or permit any one other than the
Company to do
the same and shall permit the Distributor to remove the
Equipment, for repairs, from the Consumer’s premises.
The Consumer shall not exchange the Equipment with or have
the cylinder refilled by anyone other than the Company or
the Distributor, nor shall he use the cylinder for any
purpose other than as a container for the Reliance Gas
supplied by the Company.
7.
The Consumer shall be liable for any loss or damage
to the Equipment or part thereof in accordance with the
company’s tariff in force on that date.
8.
The Company and/or the Distributor shall not be
responsible for any failure and/or delay in supplying the
Reliance Gas to the Consumer if such supply has been
delayed, hindered or prevented by any circumstances
whatsoever beyond the control of the Company and/or the
Distributor.
9.
Any sale by the Distributor to the Consumer of the
Reliance Gas, appliances and their parts and accessories
including rubber tubing used for connecting the appliances
to the Equipment shall be effected by the Distributor on
his own account and in his own right as principal.
10.
The Consumer shall use only ISI/Company approved
appliances.
11.
All necessary installation work including the
connection/disconnection of cylinders to/from the
appliances and/or pressure regulators and the work of
repairs to appliances and the replacement of rubber tubing
will be carried out at the Customer’s expense by the
Distributor on his own responsibility and not on behalf of
the Company. The fact that the Consumer is supplied
“Reliance Gas” shall not be deemed to impose
any liability on the Company with regard to the fitness or
otherwise of the installation and/or repair work. The
Company and/or Distributor and/or persons authorised by
either of them shall however have the right to inspect the
installation at any time and if considered necessary for
reasons of safety, to refuse to supply the Reliance Gas to
the Consumer.
12.
The Company shall not be liable for any loss or
damage caused to any person or property as a result of the
installation of the Equipment and/or the use of the
Reliance Gas by the Consumer. In the event of any accident
involving the Consumer’s installation, Consumer shall
forthwith inform the Distributor.
13.
The Company as well as the Consumer shall be at the
liberty to determine this Contract at any time by giving
15 days notice in writing. On the termination of this contract, the Consumer shall
forthwith return the Equipment to the Company or the
Distributor, whether or not the Cylinder contains any gas
and the Company or the Distributor shall thereafter refund
the refundable deposit made by the Consumer with the
Company mentioned above after deducting therefrom such
amounts, if any, as may be due to the Company. The
Consumer acknowledges that the refundable amount may be
less than the deposit amount.
14.
The Consumer shall pay the Stamp Duty, if any, in
respect of this “Consumer Enrollment Voucher”.
