Will the Minister of PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS be pleased to state:- (a) whether India has sought fresh stake in future in Russian oil and gas projects; (b) if so, the response of the Russian Government thereon; and (c) the steps taken by the Union Government to boost the tie between the two countries in hydrocarbon sector? MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM & NATURAL GAS (SHRI JITIN PRASADA) (a) to (c): India has expressed interest to further expand participation in exploration and development projects in the oil & gas sector in Russia. The Russian Government has noted India’s interest for future projects. To boost the ties between two countries in hydrocarbon sector, there is a mechanism of India-Russia Joint Working Group on Energy, which meets annually to consider prospective fields of co-operation between two countries. |
